Langholm mini tournament Sunday 30th October

Moffat, Langholm, Selkirk, Hawick & Dumfries

Started off with a dry day, but then came the downpours...

Micros Langholm put on a great wee training session for all the micros, what was particularly good was they mixed them up with all the other clubs, although they didn’t play any games there was a lot of smiling faces and all were made to feel very welcome and involved. Hats off to the wee ones who attended and survived the wild weather towards the end!

P4 The P4s played well today and will have learnt a lot from playing some good sides which put them under pressure. Great to have 9 players away and everyone enjoying their rugby.

Some great skills in attack and good strong tackles going in. Notably it was fantastic to see our new player Charlie King finding his confidence and scoring tries from some great running. We will work on our defence structure and retaining possession under pressure.

P5 Their coach was chuffed with P5s today. We didn’t manage to win any games, but they were all close. The downpours didn't help.

Our lot had a fair bit of time between games. So it was hard to keep them game ready.

We had some cracking attacks and support play especially from Harris, George, Charlie, Rory and Emma.

We have some work to do on tackling and also positioning to be ready to tackle.

All in all did very well against 4 very street wise sides.

P6/7 Some tough games today for the team against competitive well organised opponents. Plenty of ‘work ons’ for the group, but good to test ourselves against some of the best teams around. Look forward to seeing plenty numbers for training on Wednesday.
