Birkmyre  Boss Tsehe Rams

The Rams hit the road for their final away game of the season in West 3 at Birkmyre RFC. A sunny afternoon at Kilmacolm was the setting with a heavy going pitch and 2 teams set to do battle.

Rams mustered the bare minimum 15 players to travel an issue thats been all season for away games. Rams kicked off and showed early exchanges with some good carry's from Borthwick, Salaman and Little.

Ruck time proved difficult going with different interpretations being perceived by all involved resulting in Birkmyre taking a 6v0 lead with 2 fine penalty's from the opposition stand off. Rams response was immediate from the restart when some good quick ball from the forwards allowed Massey to call for the emergency services of PC Centre Steele who gave no hesitation on putting on the blue lights and chase his own kick to touch it down, Quigley added the extras for the Rams to go 7v6 in front.

Birkmyre then kicked into action taking a number of scores through their stand off Pinocchio who was constantly pulling the strings and keeping Birkmyre scoring and playing in the right areas of the field forcing the Rams into all sorts of problems throughout the game.

Scrum time again was dominant which seemed to be the only thing for the Rams with any momentum and causing Birkmyre any problems. A few more scores for Birkmyre and the Rams faced an up hill battle, Rams never really changed gear throughout the second half and struggled to get any continuity and foot hold in the game to cause any problems.

A day in which basics are key to the game it caused the Rams so much unwanted pressure allowing Birkmyre to run out winners 56v7.

This week 28th Rams return to the Holm to face Isle of Arran KO 1pm in the re arranged fixture from the previous week.

Saturday 28th also sees the Moffat RFC Annual Gents dinner at 7pm. £30 per person for a 3 course meal & wine. Please add your name to the list in the Buccleuch Arms Hotel or contact a Committee member.
