Moffat Rams headed up the motorway to Lochinch to face off against old foes Police Scotland Glasgow (PSG), both teams licking their wounds from the previous week.
Moffat got the game underway but PSG would put Moffat on the back foot from the start but nothing could come from the attack. Moffat started to get themselves into the game and were soon rewarded a penalty, Dayne slots it over 0-3, straight from the Police kick off seen Dom get the ball on the wing and run it home for the try, this time the kick from Dayne would fall short. 0-8.
Some great hand work from Dayne, David Steele, and Woody seen the rams make yards up the park, the Police would try and come back at the Rams but a interception on the half way line from Dom seen him run in his second try for Moffat, Dayne made sure the kick went over this time, 0-15.
The Police got on the score sheet from a well worked scrum in front of the posts with them converting the kick 7-15. A great steel from Rory Drennan gets the rams up into the opposition 22 and with some fantastic passing, keeping the ball live and giving Big Martin Salaman his chance to power his way through for the try. Dayne converted the kick giving the Ram's a 7-22 advantage.
A few missed tackles and great hand work seen the police score in the corner with the kick going wide, 12-22 going into half time.
Second half getting underway and the Captain would pick a bit of magic out his locker with a flamboyant chip over the top for Woody to score in the corner, unfortunately the kick was wide, 12-27.
An aggressive drive from a line out would see the Police score but they didn't find the posts with the kick, 17-27.
The Police were now looking like they could get something from this game, and it would come when the rams missed more tackles and they produced a converted try for their efforts. 22-27, a penalty in front of the posts for PSG but with some back chat to the referee the rams were pushed back a further 10 meters, now in kicking distance the police closed the gap to 25-27.
Squeaky bum time for the rams with minutes to go, all they had to do was hold on, but out of nowhere the Police got a break with a try putting them in front for the first time in the game, the rams tired and lacking that killer blow ended up deflated and defeated with PSG winning 30-27
Hoping for improvements next week when they travel to Uddingston.
