Strathaven pour down on Moffat Rams!

Moffat Rams would kick off the new season on a rare sunny Moffat show weekend at home park against Strathaven.

It would be the away side that would strike the first blow with the Rams missing vital tackles and letting them score in the corner with the kick falling short, with both teams wearing blue and yellow the ref would make the decision for Moffat to play the reminder of the game with their tops inside out.

The rams solid in the scrums but a lack of communication would give the opposition another try this time behind the posts, the kick was good this time and Strathaven would have a 0-12 lead, Moffat would be rewarded with a penalty and Quiggs would slot it between the sticks, 3-12 this would stay the result until half time.

The second half underway and the Rams would have a chance to close the gap with a penalty but deciding to run with ball in hand for the extra points instead of the 3 available.

A poor line out decision would see Strathaven running down the line with more missed tackles, and couple of missed knock on decisions they would go over the line and convert the kick 3-19, straight from the kick off Strathaven would punish the Rams with another quick try and a successful kick it was now 3-26. A bolt of pace from Galloway would lighten up the crowd atmosphere, bursting his gut to go up the park and straight through his opponent.

The ball not getting recycled fast enough would result in the away side coming away with the ball and scoring yet another converted try ending the match with a score line of 3 points to 33.

Rams now look to bounce back against Police Scotland away from home next weekend
