Moffat 19 - 26 Loch Lomond


Rams fight for a point

Moffat Rams took on the traveling visitors from Loch Lomond in the BT west division 3 league encounter, with the rams still trying to find their feet in the higher league, the visitors making it even harder for the Moffat side.

The rams would start off throwing everything at Loch Lomomd and get rewarded with a penalty, with the usual boot of Mark Smith not available Mark's brother Gary would step up to the plate and get Moffat off the mark. Liam Wood got the rams over the try line when he gathered the ball from the bottom of a ruck and saw a gap in the opposition defense, the rams would go in at half time 10 points to 13 down.

Loch Lomomd kicked off the second half while remaining on the front foot and punishing the home team with a converted try, a

few more penalties would go in the rams favour and a vital kick from the trust worthy boot of Gary Smith in the dying seconds would secure a bonus point for Moffat. The final whistle seen the home side loose 26 points to 19.

The next match for Moffat sees the Rams travel to Wigtownshire on Saturday for a mid table clash, there will be a bus traveling for players and supporters.

Just a wee reminder that Moffat Rugby Club will be hosting a Halloween party for the juniors in Moffat town hall on the 31st October, 2yrs - 5yrs, 1pm to 2.30pm and 6yrs - 11yrs, 3pm to 4.30pm. prizes for best fancy dress, Tickets for this event are £3 and will be available up to the 29th October from Ashleigh Douglas.
