Annan/Moffat U14 commenced their fixtures in the T4 West system with a home game against Loch Lomond U14 at The Holm, Moffat.
From the outset the home side seemed a little lethargic, which had been a feature of recent games, which resulted in the more alert and speedy Loch Lomond winger rounding the home defence to score a try under the posts, which was duly converted.
This seemed to spur the home side into action and after some good driving play and handling Finlay McMillan scored, which was unconverted.
Fully awakened from their earlier slumbers the home side then took to the task in hand which saw them score a further 6 tries through Percy Johnstone (2), Ollie Ferdinand (3) and Findlay Graham. 5 of which were converted by Aaron Carmichael.
Loch Lomond scoring another try which was converted in response.
This was a keenly contested contest with lots for the coaches of both teams to work on over the coming games.
Pick of the bunch on the day for Annan/Moffat were Percy Johnstone, Ollie Ferdinand, Ryan Armstrong, Murray Forbes and Aaron Carmichael.
Special mention to Aaron Carmichael who had to go to Hospital to get checked out following a head knock, but I'm happy to say he is now back to his cheeky self, according to his dad and should be back training in a couple of weeks.
Thanks also to the Rams tea ladies and all at the Holm for their usual friendly welcome.
